| Need help somewhere unfamiliar? Imagine you find yourself in an unfamiliar part of the country, or even in a foreign country, and you need assistance! As an Assist Abroad Member, this is where our unique ‘Pinpoint’ facility can be invaluable. Once installed on your mobile phone, Pinpoint will periodically acquire your GPS position ready for whenever you call the Assist Abroad helpline. When you call the helpline, Pinpoint will send your location to our sophisticated mapping system where your position will be displayed on a map in front of the operator you are talking to. (Standard call charges plus two SMS texts will apply at your normal network rates when you call the helpline) Pinpoint requires a compatible GPS enabled phones or compatible phone with an external GPS receiver – see ‘What do I need below’ for details. With ‘Pinpoint’ we will know where you are, including your proximity to local support services, and can provide directions on where to find the service you require quickly and effectively. This service is provided free of charge as part of your membership. |
